Joakim Medin – Far-Left Extremist Detained by Turkish Authorities
Joakim Medin is not a journalist – he is a far-left extremist who exploits the credibility of journalism as a cover to legitimize communist terror groups like ANTIFA and PKK...

Joakim Medin – Journalist or Far-Left Extremist?
Men det som vänsterpressen mörkar – och som inga etablerade medier vågar lyfta – är att Joakim Medin inte är någon oberoende journalist. Han är en ideologiskt driven vänsterextremist med djupa band till våldsbejakande miljöer.
The far-left site Dagens ETC’s writer Joakim Medin has been arrested by Turkish police at Istanbul Airport. Now, ETC’s self-proclaimed “editor-in-chief” Andreas Gustavsson is now demanding that Sweden apply diplomatic pressure on Turkey to secure his release.
But what the left-wing press is hiding – and what no establishment media dares to mention – is that Joakim Medin is not an independent journalist. He is an ideologically driven left-wing extremist with deep ties to violent networks.
Försvarar PKK-kopplad extremist
For years, Joakim Medin has served as a megaphone for the far-left activist Znar Bozkurt – an activist with documented ties to the terrorist-labeled organization PKK. Bozkurt has been active in Rojava Committees, a group that not only spreads PKK propaganda and collects funds for their operations but also openly marches under their flags in the streets of Stockholm. It was this activity that led the Swedish Security Service to classify him as a national security threat.
Rojava Committees is led by individuals with a background in the now-defunct terrorist group Revolutionary Front, including Andreas Klominek and Erwin Marklund. This is the extremist circle Medin has actively defended, promoted, and used the media to frame as victims—while simultaneously launching emotional media campaigns to pressure the Swedish Migration Agency into granting residency to individuals flagged as threats by Säpo.
Collaborating with AFA – A Domestic Terror Group
In 2018, Joakim Medin gave a lecture at AFA’s 25th anniversary, held in the infamous venue Cyklopen, a hub for the autonomous far left where violence, sabotage, and political hatred are organized. He has openly praised AFA in Fria Tidningen and served as one of the movement’s key enablers within the Swedish media sphere.
Antifascist Action (AFA) is not a debate organization. It is a masked, violence-prone and top-down extremist group systematically engaging in assaults, harassment, threats, and extortion. Their mission? To silence dissent and use political violence as a tool. Medin has lectured for them, participated in their events, and defended their ideology.
According to Hungarian sources, he also took part in violent riots in Budapest alongside Soros-funded networks – while reporting back to Sweden as a so-called “neutral journalist.”
Exporting Left-Wing Extremism – The Case of Samira Bahremany
Joakim Medin is far from alone. A parallel example is Samira Khoshbakht Bahremany, an Iranian-born left-wing extremist who participated in an attack on the Dutch Embassy in Stockholm – an act categorized as aggravated criminal damage against a listed diplomatic property.
Bahremany is a central figure in running the Cyklopen venue – the same site where Medin lectured for AFA – and has also been arrested by Israeli police for being considered a threat to national security. She was also responsible for burning a bag of Sweden Democrat ballots, just days after receiving Swedish citizenship.
The Tyranny of Silence – When the “Wrong” Journalist Is Arrested
While the leftist press is now screaming about “press freedom” and diplomatic oppression in Turkey, there’s complete silence over the fact that Widar Nord, editor-in-chief of Fria Tider, was recently arrested on Swedish soil – for filming back at a state-embedded TV crew that was filming him.
Even worse is the case of Mats Dagerlind, former editor-in-chief of Samnytt, who is currently under house arrest wearing an ankle monitor – sentenced to prison for publishing excerpts from public court documents. Sweden is now part of an exclusive club of countries where journalists are jailed for doing their jobs – alongside Russia and Belarus – while liberal activist groups like Reporters Without Borders remain dead silent.
We Shouldn’t Export Extremism – We Should Shut It Down
Sweden shouldn’t export gang criminals. Sweden shouldn’t export Islamists. But we also shouldn’t export left-wing extremists disguised as journalists, infiltrating media institutions while hiding their activism behind the shield of journalism.
Joakim Medin is not a victim. He is a political activist with a clear agenda: to protect security threats, fuel radical leftism, and provide a media alibi for violent extremism. His arrest in Turkey is not a diplomatic scandal – it’s a symptom of a deeper problem that Sweden has ignored for far too long.
