Earlier this spring, the civil society organization The Free Sweden’s new community center, The House of Swedes, was targeted in an arson attack that is believed to have been carried out by far-left extremists.
While the media and politicians were quick to condemn other incidents, such as the well-known event in Gubbängen, Stockholm where a far-left meeting was interrupted and a well-known ANTIFA-extremist Mathias Wåg (Våg-Malmhake) received a slap, the arson attack on The Free Sweden’s premises has been met with total silence. When it was finally brought up by the Swedish newspaper Expressen, they even seemed to portray the attack as something positive.
But who exactly are The Free Sweden, the organization consistently labeled as “far-right” by the media? I traveled to Skåne in southern Sweden to visit their local chapter and uncover the truth behind the headlines.
